Gnome Haus Live

A History of Our Live Performances

We develop original work, featuring artists of ‘other’ (focusing on POC and LGBTQ+ artists behind the scenes and onstage). Our stories utilize elements of heightened realities (magic - for you muggles), through which we examine narratives focusing on POC and LGBTQ+ communities.

The result of E. E. Wade's residency at The Gnome Haus - The Mad Mad Scientist Play tells the story of Ron, a black professor and theoretical physicist on a race against the clock to finish his greatest invention: the first humanoid time machine the world has ever seen.

As Ron's time machine gets stronger and smarter, he finds himself risking his career, love life, and safety for the chance to answer the "what ifs" he left behind. The Mad Mad Scientist Play is a thrilling sci-fi comedy that questions if living in the past is worth sacrificing your future.

Lena grew up in a family of storytellers. When it was her turn to take the mic, she had plenty to say, but not enough courage to spit it. That’s when her Auntie, Miss B. Darling, a transwoman and businessperson, steps in to teach Lena how to find the beat. Playing multiple characters, writer/performer E. E. Wade brings her own brand of southern charm and ferocious wit to this celebration of family, first loves, and #BlackGirlMagic.
